The improvising violinist, composer, arranger. She’s been playing the violin since she was 7 years old. Her adventure with improvisation started at the end of 2013 and a year later she discovered her enjoyment and drive towards creating and performing her own works. The main objective of her music is expressing various emotional states. The leader of Amalia Obrębowska Quartet, the musician of Grzech Piotrowski World Orchestra/Alchemik Orchestra.
She graduated from Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Jazz and Stage Music faculty in a class of prof. Henryk Gembalski, with a Master of Arts degree. Since 2017 she has also been studying on Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in a class of prof. Mateusz Smoczyński (Jazz and World Music faculty).
She is the recipient of the audience award and a special award on The International Zbigniew Seifert Jazz Violin Competition 2018, which took place in The Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice. As part of the awards she played two concerts with her quartet of the SEIFERT TOUR 2019 (Emanacje Festival – Galeria-Szpital św. Ducha in Biecz, Krakowska Noc Jazzu – The Museum of Contemporary Art in Cracow). Received honors in the competition for New Jazz Hope on Novum Jazz Festival 2016 in Łomża as well as on Blue Note Poznań Competition 2017. Amalia is also a finalist of Blue Note Poznań Competition 2018, Krokus Jazz Festival 2017 and Novum Jazz Festival 2017.
